Patoranking gets deep during his nairobi listening session

“God Over Everything” has been the message all across the web throughout the month of August. It’s the title of Nigerian singer, Patoranking’s new album and it could probably go down as a case study on how to promote an album in 2016.
#GOE has gone from becoming an album title to a semi-recognizable brand on social media and across the continent. After releasing the record on iTunes, Patoranking has spent time travelling across the continent in a bid to promote his debut offering.
He touched down in Nairobi, Kenya and wasted no time in confirming that he and his people were discussing a possible collaboration with Sauti Sol (who are quickly becoming the busiest band in Africa). The singer said:
“We are in talks with Sauti Sol and we shall provide further information on the planned collaboration in the near future”
The Nairobi leg was the latest in a series of listening sessions that Patoranking has held across the continent. Kampala and Dar es Salaam also had the opportunity to host the Nigerian hookgod. He got particularly open in Tanzania when he spoke to the audience and revealed just how much his life has changed from his humble beginnings:
“Many people don’t know much about Patoranking; there were some things I had to do. I used to sell rat poison in the streets of Lagos, but that was way back. Right now everything has changed…”
