2 suicide bombers attack IDP camp in Borno

Many Internally displaced persons are feared dead after two suicide bombers attacked the Dalori IDPs camp which is the largest in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

Confirming the attacks, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in a statement released today, said only the two suicide bombers were killed during the attack.

NEMA said that the twin explosion took place at about 7:00 p.m., when the two suicide bombers laced with improvised explosive devices IEDs attempting to get into the crowd blew themselves up at Dalori quarters living one person injured on impact.

“Multiple suicide bomb attacks involving two suicide bombers at Dalori quarters near Dalori IDP camp. One person was inflicted with a mild injury whereas the suicide bombers were killed by the explosion,” NEMA said.

Meanwhile, curfew hours in most IDP camps remain 6:00 p.m., while the rest of the state capital and Biu town shut down at 10:30 p.m.
