Barcelona' Lionel Messi returns to training after suffering broken arm
Barcelona and Argentina superstar, Lionel Messi returned to training at Barcelona today after suffering a broken arm.

The 31-year-old fractured his arm during Barcelona’s 4-2 win over Sevilla this month and was left to watch from the stands as the club thrashed rivals Real Madrid 5-1 on Sunday.

Although manager Ernesto Valverde later claimed that Messi’s presence was still greatly missed, despite their big Clasico victory.

“For us, since last week when he got injured, we were probably thinking how we would respond on the pitch,” said Valverde last Sunday.

“There’s only one answer, you have to respond as a team and that’s what we’ve done. The result could’ve been different but that’s the only answer we can give you.

“We’re delighted for the team but obviously the sooner he’s back the better for us because we miss him. We want him back tomorrow.”

In a tweet by official Barcelona handle, they updated their fans on Twitter with an image of Messi in action during today’s training session.

Although it’s very doubtful that the 31-year-old will feature in tonight’s Copa del Rey game with Cultural Leonesa.

Messi has managed 12 goals and six assists in 12 appearances across all competitions this season.
