Tyler, the Creator signs deal with Sony Pictures TV

Tyler, the Creator have signed a first-look deal with Sony Pictures TV via their Bald Face Productions for new scripted and unscripted projects for television and new media

The rapper’s producing collaborator, Lionel Boyce is also apart of the new first-look deal. It seems this deal was inevitable from happening as Sony has had their sights set on Tyler for some time.
“To be partnering with the creative genius of Tyler, the Creator and Lionel Boyce is a dream come true for us as we’ve long been fans of their work,” Jeff Frost, president of Sony Pictures Television, told The Hollywood Reporter Wednesday night.

“Tyler’s unconventional ingenuity is unparalleled, and we are excited about the prospect of what we can create together.”

Any further details on the deal have not yet been made public.

This collaboration with a television network is not the music artist’s first rodeo as he was also involved in Adult Swim’s ‘Loiter Squad’ and ‘The Jellies’. ‘Loiter Squad’ came to an end in 2015 following Tyler’s announcement.

“But that shit was sick!” he told Weld at the time.

“It opened the doors up for other things that my boys want to do,” he says. “That was a great thing, but we’re off that.”

The rapper is a busy man because his annual Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival and music festival begins in Los Angeles just next month.
