EPL: Mourinho wants Anthony Martial to extend deal with Manchester United Naijaslog
Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho seems to be keen on keeping his hands on Anthony Martial after he won't extend his contract with Manchester United.

The Frenchman, 22, has had numerous problems under the Portuguese manager last season having often struggled for the regular game time.

Due to his alleged problems with Mourinho, it was expected the Martial won’t be considering a new deal with the Red Devils.

However, this year, the prosperous youngster has established himself as one of the most reliable attacking options, as he recorded a total of 11 encounters across all competitions, scoring five goals in the process.

Widely recognized as one of the most talented wingers in top five Europe leagues, Martial has attracted interest from several notable clubs, including Inter Milan and Bayern Munich.

But, as things stand, the relationship between the former Real Madrid boss and the player is improving, with Mourinho ‘hoping to help’ Martial become a top player.

According to the ESPN, the famous tactician has expressed his desire to work with Martial and influence his development.

“I hope they will agree,” Mourinho told a news conference on Friday. “Obviously I hope. One thing is that he’s a talented player that everybody knows he is. Everybody knows since he was in Monaco that he is a talented player.

"Another thing is a talented player with consistency and understanding what a football match is in the globality.

“When you reach that level, or when you are almost reaching that level, that is when you become a top player.

“One thing is a top talent, another is a top player. He is now much closer to being a top player. Obviously, I would like him to stay. I know the club wants him very much to stay. Hopefully, he is going to stay.”
