Coronavirus: President Buhari to address Nigerians at 7pm today

President Muhammadu Buhari will address Nigerians by 7pm on what to do next as the two weeks lockdown comes to an end on Monday night.

Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity announced this in a statement hours before President Buhari is scheduled to address Nigerians.

“President Muhammadu Buhari will broadcast to the nation Monday, April 13, 2020 at 7pm," Adesina said.

"Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively for the broadcast."

Buhari had on Sunday, March 29, 2020 declared a total lockdown in Lagos, Abuja, and Ogun during a nationwide broadcast to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

There have been anxieties in many quarters whether the lockdown would be extended or lifted.
