Davido is the real 'Odogwu'.. says Cubana Chief Priest after Burna Boy mocked Davido

Nigerian nightlife promoter, Paschal Chubuike Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest, has reply Burna Boy on behalf of Davido for mocking him.

The uproar had started when Davido posted picture of himself and Wizkid and captioned it "The 2 greatest of all time" on his social media platforms.

Earlier this year, Burna Boy released a single titled ‘Odogwu’, which translates as a great man in Igbo language, appeared to have reacted to Davido’s declaration when he hinted that the hit-maker's achievements were influenced by his father’s wealth.

“You cannot play football, everybody knows you cannot play football and you are an embarrassment to the team. But your daddy bought the entire team,” he had written in a now-deleted post on Snapchat.

The ‘African Giant’ crooner’s post had left tongues wagging, with many Nigerians taking to social media platforms to register their annoyance.

Joining the fray, the nightlife promoter explained why he thinks Davido deserves all the accolades he had showered on himself.

In what appeared to be a dig at Burna Boy, Cubana Chief Priest said although Davido is from a wealthy background, he has used his affluence to inspire many people into greatness and should be called “Odogwu”.

“Don’t ever fight destiny. You see this crown, it’s God that gave it to him. It’s natural, it’s inborn. David as someone from a wealthy background never looked out for a rich/blown girlfriend rather he blew his girl,” he wrote in a mixture of English and Pidgin on Instagram.

“David at 26 has a 5-year old daughter. David with his said father’s money has raised talents to super stars even his gateman has benefited!!!!

“Were it to be your father that owns such money, pride would not allow you to do music for a living. David turned poor Ikotun boys to Island big boys, come on !!!! There are levels to this championship thing, na who blow come still blow people na him we wey be Igbo people dey call odogwu.”

Meanwhile, in March, Burna Boy had also caused a stir on social media when he tagged himself as the best in the country’s music industry since Fela.

That got many Nigerians angry, that some even said they thank God he never won the Grammy awards.
