Trump threatens to shut down social media over Twitter putting fact-check link on his post

US President Donald Trump has threatened to shut down social media platforms after Twitter applied a fact-check link to two of his tweets.

On Tuesday, Trump had tweeted about the controversial mail-in ballots system which he describes as fraudulent.

In a series of tweet, Trump alleged that the mail-in ballots will lead to votes being forged, illegally printed out and fraudulently signed.

However, Twitter putting a warning on Trump’s tweet reads: “Get the facts about mail-in ballots.”

The action angered the US president and he accused the social media platform of election meddling. Said he as the president won't allow it to happen.

Then in a tweet on Wednesday, Trump claimed social media was silencing the voices of conservatives, that the social media platforms will be regulated or shut down before they totally silence other views.
